Public AI grants for SMEs: what exists, country by country

Depending on the country, a public grant may fund part of an AI project. Here is the situation checked on 27/10/2026, with the official conditions — nothing is promised in advance.

The common rule: the grant application comes before the order. Eligibility is checked during the Audit; the company files its own application, and the administration decides.

Luxembourg: SME Package AI, 70%

  • Rate — 70% of eligible costs, for a quote of €3,000 to €25,000 excl. VAT;
  • who for — an SME with its registered office and business permit in Luxembourg;
  • mandatory step — a pre-analysis with the House of Entrepreneurship or eHandwierk, before the project;
  • status — open.

Italy: Piedmont and Aosta Valley

  • Piedmont, Voucher digitalizzazione PMI 2026 — 65% for a micro-business, 60% for a small one, 50% for a medium one; voucher of €4,000 to €25,000; generative AI and document automation eligible; applications from 22/10 to 15/12/2026, before any expense. The call;
  • Aosta Valley, Voucher Digit VdA — up to 70%, from €3,500 to €15,000; the 2025 edition is closed, the 2026 edition is not announced. Aosta Chamber of Commerce.

France: grants reserved for designated providers

  • Regions — in Grand Est, digitalisation grants go through providers labelled or listed by the Region; in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Atouts Numériques is delivered by the association Entreprises & Numérique;
  • Bpifrance, Diagnostic Data IA — for companies of 10 to 2,000 employees, delivered by experts approved by Bpifrance.

None of these schemes currently funds the installation of AUTOPILOT directly.

Belgium and French-speaking Switzerland: nothing open today

  • Wallonia — the "digital maturity" voucher was abolished on 12/07/2026;
  • Brussels — the external-consulting grant has been suspended since 12/08/2026;
  • French-speaking Switzerland — no cantonal grant for installing an AI tool found.

Can Evol-AI guarantee the grant will be awarded?No. The grant is decided by the country's administration. Eligibility is checked during the Audit, and the company files its application before any commitment.
Must the grant application be filed before ordering?Yes, for the schemes listed here: the pre-analysis or the application comes before the order. An expense committed earlier can no longer be funded.
What about France?Regional grants go through providers labelled by the Region or through a designated body. None of them currently funds the installation of AUTOPILOT directly.
