AI for restaurants and food trades: the kitchen stays in charge

Restaurant, café or bakery: service comes first; the admin waits

Prerequisite: a computer and about 3 hours of admin per week

The daily routine of the food trades

When the dining room empties, the same list is waiting:

  • quotes and supplier orders — the butcher to chase, a delayed order, a catering quote due before Friday;
  • team and production schedule — rotations, leave, extra staff, batches to organise;
  • product sheets — menus, set menus, seasonal prices, allergens kept up to date;
  • reminders and unpaid invoices — invoices with no payment, deposits never paid

Nothing difficult — but repetition wears you out, and what is not tracked comes back at peak time

What the AI prepares: the week's page

AUTOPILOT installs 2 AI assistants connected to the connected folder — the space where the AI drops its drafts and reads the documents:

  • unpaid invoices first — who owes what, since when, invoices at hand;
  • reminders and orders drafted — in the house tone, never sent without approval;
  • schedule and product sheets — gaps to fill, prices up to date

By default, the AI prepares and approval takes one click. After 10 approvals in a row with no edits, delegation becomes possible — revocable in one word.

Restaurants: from the bistro to fine dining

Day to day: the market, suppliers to chase, rotations, reviews to handle

AUTOPILOT prepares the page: unpaid invoices first, reminders in the house tone, orders to check

What the AI does not do: no connection to the till software (studied during the Audit call), no review published without approval, allergens approved by hand.

Café, bar and tobacco bar: the counter's admin

Day to day: drink orders, supplier reminders, short schedules, prices that move

The AI drafts orders, spots deadlines, keeps prices up to date

What the AI does not do: it does not replace the counter gesture — taking payment, approving an order, answering a customer stays human.

Snack bar and food truck: a kitchen with no office

Day to day: rounds to plan, private events to price, stock to anticipate, deposits to chase

The AI drafts quotes, deposit reminders, stock to order

What the AI does not do: it never confirms a booking, never gives a price without approval, and does not touch permits.

Ice-cream makers: an intense season

In season, an ice-cream maker runs flat out; off season, the admin catches up: ingredients, seasonal staff, quotes.

The AI prepares draft orders, event quotes, a seasonal schedule to confirm

What the AI does not do: never a recipe or sourcing decision — making the product stays the artisan's work, allergens approved by hand.

Bakery, pastry, butcher, charcuterie and catering

The day starts before dawn: flour, butter, meat to anticipate, production schedule, quotes to follow.

The AI spots ingredients running low, drafts orders, keeps the sheets up to date

What the AI does not do: it never touches production — recipes, quantities and batches stay the artisan's work; allergens approved by hand.

Delicatessen and wine shop: the stock that speaks

Day to day: restocking to anticipate, suppliers to chase, prices and product sheets to keep up to date

The AI prepares stock to order, supplier reminders, unpaid-invoice tracking

What the AI does not do: no advice instead of the shopkeeper, never a message to a customer without approval, and nothing on regulatory obligations.

Private-event quotes and supplier orders: prepared before service

A one-night private hire, a company group, a family meal, a works-council event: every request deserves a quick quote — and it is in the evening that you answer, when the dining room is empty. The AI drafts the quote from the templates and menus in the folder, with the private-hire options already offered; the price, the package and the date are approved in one click.

Same logic for suppliers: the week's orders prepared from stock, the announced menus and the usual deliveries, price differences flagged. Prices, quantities and menus are still decided in the kitchen — the AI sets nothing on its own and orders nothing without approval.

What the AI will not do

  • no connection to business software — it works on the files the tools can output; the rest is decided during the Audit call;
  • no public reply to a customer — drafts yes, publishing without approval no;
  • nothing on safety — allergens, hygiene, sensitive data: everything stays human and tracked
Nothing involving money goes out on its own: collecting, paying, deleting, or writing the first message to a new recipient stays human.

A proven method, not a concept

Take the typical case of a 3-person food business: production and service in the morning; two hours of admin in the evening.

With AUTOPILOT, the page arrives at the chosen time: unpaid invoices first, reminders drafted, nothing sent without approval. No gain figure is claimed.

An installation that comes to you

These trades are at the heart of AUTOPILOT's target: small businesses on the ground, with no one dedicated to admin — across the French-speaking world: France, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg, French-speaking Canada. The target: independents and very small businesses (about 1 to 20 people) — not franchises or integrated networks, whose tools and decisions come from head office.

An on-site visit is possible depending on the area, otherwise installation is done remotely — same method, same rules. Travel is charged extra, on quote, stated before you decide.

Depending on the country, a public grant may fund part of the project: eligibility is checked together during the Audit.

Frequently asked questions

Can the AI plug into my restaurant's till software?No. It works on the files the tools can already output — an export, a workbook dropped into the folder. Connecting to business software is studied during the Audit call, case by case, never on a web page.
Can the AI reply to online customer reviews for me?It prepares draft replies in the house tone, never published without approval. Publishing stays a human gesture: it is the restaurant's name that replies to the customer.
Who sends the reminders and supplier orders?The owner. By default, the AI prepares and approval takes one click; after 10 approvals in a row with no edits on the same type of task, delegation becomes possible — revocable in one word.
Does the AI touch allergen sheets or hygiene?It keeps the files up to date from supplier sheets, but approving an allergen sheet — like everything involving customer safety — stays human and tracked.
Does it work for a restaurant run by one person?Yes. An installation runs on a single access to the AI — one account, one name. One person approves the week's page; the team works in the workbook, which can be shared without limit.
Can the installation be done on site?Yes, depending on the area — the details are in the section "An installation that comes to you". Travel is charged extra, on quote, stated before you decide.
